Superior Background Investigations recognizes that your department is unique from other agencies. Once you have selected a candidate to move onto the background phase of the hiring process, I will schedule and meet with the applicant(s) at your law enforcement agency and complete a background investigation interview. This interview is recorded and includes a thorough review of their completed background investigation packet and asking several follow-up questions to help determine their suitability and fit for your department. Ethics and honesty are paramount to any law enforcement agency and my focus is to support your agency to help identify qualified applicants that will foster your reputation for excellence.
Once the applicant interview is complete, I will begin my follow-up investigation by verifying and combing through all information. In many cases, another agency may have backgrounded an applicant. The most efficient use of time and resources in those situations is to contact that agency and request a copy of their background investigation summary.
It is important to have a point of contact at the hiring agency. This is necessary to keep an agency updated on the background investigation, but it is also important to alert an agency of any concerns associated with an applicant.
Upon completion of the background investigation, the Executive Summary is saved as a bookmarked PDF document. All digital files received or obtained during the course of the investigation will be turned over to the hiring agency for inclusion with the agency's personnel file. The Executive Summary and select files are presented to the hiring agency in a tabular binder.
Because every background investigation is unique, Superior Background Investigations does not charge using a flat rate. Each background is billed by the total of hours worked, plus expenses if needed.
In preparation of your agency outsourcing the background investigations to Superior Background Investigations, I would request an in-person meeting with the hiring agency to review and receive your individualized background documents, (e.g., background packet, questionnaires, release forms, etc.). This meeting would afford me the opportunity to work with your agency and determine how you want the investigation tailored to your agency. If needed, I would also like to update your background documents to a fillable PDF format, complete with your agencies identification.
